My Labor Day Spruce-Up – Bathroom Wainscoting & Paint

Labor Day Bathroom Spruce-Ups

In my previous blog post, I hoped to inspire you to use part of your Labor Day weekend to spruce-up an area of your home. Well, just like a doctor should take his own advice, I decided I would lead by example. Here’s a picture of my Labor Day project. Unfortunately, I didn’t quite get it finished until yesterday… which is good, since I’ve got people coming over tomorrow to watch the USC vs. Ohio State game!

My wife and I have been attempting to find the time get this bathroom redone for a while. While the bathroom is fairly new, it was extremely plain with poor finish work, as is the case with most homes built these days. And as many of you with young kids may attest to, finding time to do even a small project like this can be daunting.

But it is one of those things that one resolves to “make happen” when the pain of looking at something you hate is overwhelmed by the effort needed to make it better.  So I installed some chair rail and wainscoting, changed a few fixtures, added some paint and a new accessory scheme, and presto. No more ugly bathroom!

I would LOVE to see pictures of some of your recent projects. Friend us on Facebook at http://companies.to/handyman-cincinnati and post them on our wall for everyone to see!

Happy remodeling!

Don
