The Best Flooring For Your Home

Not all flooring is the same. Between all the different choices, sometimes it can be hard to decide what flooring is right for you. Let’s take a look at some of the most common types of flooring installation in Cincinnati homes.

  1. LVP: LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) is one of the most common types of flooring. These flooring planks are scratch resistant, thick and waterproof. LVP makes for a good choice in highly traveled rooms, especially in rooms that are likely to experience staining such as kitchens.
  2. Hardwood: One of the more expensive and aesthetic flooring options. Hardwood provides a beautiful floor finish that provides an old-world feel to any home. Although it is not as scratch or water resistant as LVP, it has an unbeatable antique look, is easy to clean and very durable.
  3. Laminate: A thinner and less waterproof option, laminate flooring is a good option for living rooms, halls, and dining rooms. You may want a more waterproof floor for your bathrooms and/or kitchens, but for the rest of your home laminate flooring can provide a stone-like look that is more budget-friendly. In addition, its scratch resistance is perfect for homes with pets and children.
  4. Tile: This is a common floor type, usually chosen for bathrooms and kitchens. Tile flooring provides a long lasting and durable floor option for homeowners that can also be customized to your style preferences. With a wide range of price, there is a tile option for everyone.
  5. Standard Vinyl: As one of the least expensive flooring options, vinyl flooring is a thinner and more affordable flooring solution than LVP. Because it is waterproof it is often a good option for most rooms in a home. Standard vinyl flooring will have a shorter lifespan than LVP as well but comes at a cheaper average price.

The 3 factors to keep in mind when choosing your floor are budget, purpose, and appearance. For example, if you’re a homeowner looking for a rustic, dog friendly floor for your living room or a modern-looking low maintenance floor for your kitchen. There’s a floor for everyone, and whichever floor all three of these will be the right option for you and your home!
